Recently I felt compelled to seek out the author Bill Nippard behind the book-cover, the Teamwork ladder, 4th international best seller that is literally raising a roof!
What I most like about Bill is that he is humble and REAL, which in my travels is what people no matter their age, sex, pedigree, demographics, vocation, paycheque, etc...are starving for those attributes and will only pay attention and 'listen' if the messenger are those things. Vulnerability is magically! Vulnerability is ones mega strength, and one that lights meaningful change in others that are starving to move forward in their lives.
So I asked Bill to show me 'the heart behind the book'. I wanted to know what his book meant to him on the deepest level. How long has this book been within him, and what does it truly mean to Bill at the core level to write it, to birth it, and behind all the words he handpicked, what 'life altering spark' did he want to ignite in other peoples lives (that are real and raw like you and I) that would transcend in any facet of our lives that we need to 'climb'...as we all need ladders everywhere...and we all need to climb...
My goal as a life coach, a parent, a peer, a teacher, a friend, otherwise as 'Renee' is to give my very best to help navigate 'my people' achieve their very best lives from a rooted grounded place; one where we develop and unleash our best able selves so we can give our able best to help others do the same. It is about climbing in our lives but a ladder to get us from point A, to point B, and so on and so on. It is also about learning how to climb, and how to climb better. If is also about checking blind spots on our climbs. It most certainly is about achieving concrete where we change to change our bottom line; however the bottom line is more than a title or our income; our bottom line is developing our best lives that gives fully and freely to others. The dots do connect and here with full heart I am shining the spotlight on the teamwork ladder, a 'super food' resources guides the climb to raise the roof with our lives!
Good morning Renee!
Thank you once more for your connection to the message within The Teamwork Ladder. You have a magnetic energy that radiates from even your words. I love your spirit! I am more than pleased to share a few thoughts with you this morning while I sip away on a hot cup of mint, green tea. I have a radio interview later this morning so maybe this will get me into the proper gear for that chat.
The creation of the book was likely birthed more than 20 years ago as I entered the workforce and soon realized that, within the same professions, some organizations outperform others by a landslide. I was quick to notice that while one staff was bathing in an atmosphere of high morale and job satisfaction, another staff performing the same tasks and offering the same products or service, seemed crippled and fatigued by strained staff relations. While one worker was emotionally drained and taxed at work, her colleague across the street in another office had her proverbial morale tank filled while performing within her specific role. My curiosity would not rest until I had explored the reasons behind this disparity. In my quest to seek answers, I learned so much ...I soaked up all I could read and learn about the systems through which we as humans interact with one another. If there was a way to maximize the results I get from any endeavor, if there was a proper way to work with others as opposed to compete with them, or a means to achieve optimal staff unity and improve the quality of working relationships, I wanted in. I was fortunate to connect with many great leaders, including renown masters like Zig Ziglar and Toronto Raptor coach Jay Triano, whom I learned so much from. The more I learned and continue to learn, the greater my desire grows to share and lighten the strain from anyone who desires to grow and surpass mediocrity. As I began to formulate my own theory around success and present it in a manner than was both easy to understand and simple to apply to organizations both large and small, people began to ask for something to take home to read. At the last national convention I spoke, there was a huge demand for take-home materials following the seminar. It was then I realized I had to step back from the speaking circuit and write. Having read hundreds of books, gleaned from thousands of interviews and consults, grown through personal leadership experiences ( both positive and negative), having tested of the theory and finally the completed the editing process of the book, here we are with The Teamwork Ladder: 8 Steps To MAXIMUM Success.

The book teaches eight of the most powerful principles of teamwork by using the analogy of a ladder, where each side and rung represents a law that must be in healthy operation to prevent or solve the most common workplace and relational struggles and frustrations. It teaches, not only eight vital principles of working with others (teamwork), but the precise order needed to master before expecting optimal results. People are loving the analogies for understanding and the relevant application of principles to daily living. I believe the book is doing so well because it is real-life material. Anyone can plug in to their current existence, and see precisely what is missing to get them where they deserve and desire to be.
You mentioned authenticity. This topic of being real in all we do and become is dealt with immensely throughout the book. It comes as a warning early in the book ...a warning to not be manipulative in our interactions with others. The decision to sign up for teamwork is a decision to first of all shift our focus from ourselves to others. This is critical and an absence of realness in who we are and our motives for interacting with others is a recipe for strained relationships and underachievement. Here is an excerpt from that first chapter dealing with this .
" If you attempt this teamwork creed with a manipulative mindset, you have missed the entire point. Setting out to help others achieve their heartfelt dreams should be motivated simply by the rightness of it. Your genuine love and empathy for people who share your life’s precious moments is the fuel that fires your daily actions of kindness and support. Be real in all you do, including relationships with teammates. If you set out with a selfish mindset, concentrating on manipulating your team for self-centered desires, bring a cloth because I guarantee a pie-in-the-face future straight ahead.
Scientists have discovered that 10 per cent of the one hundred billion neurons in our brains are “deceit detectors.” Your teammates will spot insincerity in the blink of an eye. Today’s society has had it with phonies. From political scandals to the hypocrisy of religious leaders, people are sick to their stomach with fraudulence. As never before, we want to see, hear and associate with authentic people. We all embrace compassion, but detest insincerity. We are attracted to integrity, but reject deceitfulness. If you begin this journey with a mindset of playing games with people to meet your own agenda, don’t bother to pack much because your trip will be a short one. If however, you lend this kind hand and wear this new lens with an honest and principled intention, truly feeling empathy and sincerely acting out of a genuine spirit, you will be loved and respected by all who enter your sphere of influence. Your new lens is not a tool to build loyalty so that others will better cushion your seat in life. Ironically though, this lens when used whole-heartedly, will return others to you with tools that will give you a greater level of success that you could have ever attained on your own. As Socrates so wisely stated, “The first key to greatness is to be in reality what we appear to be”.

I believe the tag attached to your gift of life beckons you to take responsibility for gaining knowledge and understanding through personal growth so your actions will lead to outcomes that are beyond even you!"
Hopefully, this e-mail hasn't been too long but I wanted to capture the essence of my emphasis on authenticity. I believe we are on the same page there. :)
Thank you for who you are and what you represent! I mean that ...Continue to be that example for positive change both personally and professionally.
